A Severa
Typical Restaurant
Severa was inaugurated in 1955, by the couple Júlio and Maria José de Barros Evangelista. It is the oldest Fado House in Lisbon, run by the same family for 4 generations, it is an active part of the history of Fado, being important for the promotion of the traditional Portuguese culture, where some of the greatest Fado singers started and passed away.

Located in one of the most typical neighbourhoods of the city – Bairro Alto – A Severa is famous for the authenticity and quality of its food and for its good Fado.
In a cosy candlelight atmosphere, you can enjoy a memorable evening to the sound of Fado and the taste of pure traditional Portuguese gastronomy.
TO THE SOUND OF THE BEST FADO
Fado represents for the Portuguese people an art of expressing a melancholic or joyful state of soul. Given its cultural value, Fado was considered Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2011, with Lisbon being the capital of this cultural movement.
